Let me introduce myself. My name is Carol Pierce-Davis, PhD. I am a psychologist in private practice, not a pastor, priest, or missionary.

I would like to call myself a woman of faith, but that sounds a bit presumptuous and involves much more righteousness than I could ever muster. So please call me Carol. Or just CPD.

Growing up in the church, attending Lutheran schools and university, I was privy to a rich curriculum of Old and New Testament studies. I went on to earn an undergraduate major in public speaking, literature, and the English language followed up with two graduate degrees in psychology. Upon settling in a small Texas community with no Lutheran church in town, I jumped into another denomination, the Episcopal church.

With its educational opportunities, encouragement for spiritual growth, and open-minded programs, I found my home. The church has given me opportunities to minister to a wide range of people from all denominations, ages, and places in life. Today, I am stepping into another arena. This book, with its meditations, is focused on scripture, Christ, and spiritual growth. I call it A Moment in Time: Meditations on the Seasons of Faith and have loosely organized it around the Church calendar.
